September 2006 Robert Traustason and Birgir Konradsson attended the former SEAL Training Academy which includes the SEAL Adventure 24 hour Challenge. Both Robert and Birgir came from Iceland in order to see what makes Navy SEAL training so tough. These two gentlemen run a fitness program in Iceland called Bootcamp and wanted to take home to their gym some SEAL training
experiences. Their Bootcamp gym runs the only program of its kind in the entire country. Robert and Birgir participated in the Training Academy and performed well. Upon returning to Iceland they decided to begin to train a group of Icelanders for a future SEAL Adventure Challenge.
January 2007 Robert and Birgir asked SEAL Training Adventures’ CEO Steve Erle (Doc) to bring some of his instructor cadre' to Iceland and test their Bootcamp group. From 20 May - 22 May Steve Erle, Don Mann, lead instructor, and Kory Knowles of the SEAL Quest and a former BUD/s instructor held a 39 hour SEAL Adventure Challenge. These three instructors put a group of civilians through an extremely tough and demanding course in the harsh environment of Iceland.
According to Don Mann, CEO of Primal Quest and Lead Instructor of SEAL Training Events for over 10 years, "This group is the best prepared group I have ever instructed at a SEAL event, they are doing very well."
The Iceland SEAL Adventure Challenge (ISAC) was a great success. ISAC is planned to be a one of a kind annual event for all adventure enthusiasts trying to get the most of their extreme adventure endeavors.
Do you have what it takes to train with the best?
